Times Square Project
This project entailed refurbishing of the marquis (Roxy) which had been at this site for over 70 years.
In keeping with the nostalgic old-school Times Square aesthetics, RadioShack decided that all attempts were to be made to refurbish or replace elements with same materials. This undertaking occurring while Times Square was setting up for a Superbowl extravaganza.

The background is custom aluminum panels, custom painted and coated in-house to fit within the insert area as seen.
All chrome elements had to be buffed and then polished. All bulbs and sockets were replaced. The bulbs were coated 60W bulbs in the same style as years ago. Chaser units were refurbished to allow the same bulb chase as before. All neon was fabricated to match the existing design as well as “pk housings” replacements.
All work consisted of men being lowered from the third story of the building down to the back side of the marquis to correct all wiring and transformer replacements.
The project–from removal to fabrication to install–was completed within a one and a half week time frame, right on time for Times Square to host the Superbowl events. Its prime location allowed for its identity to be advertised multiple times on network news….. shining bright…
